Stachybotrys chartarum "Black Mold"
Thrives on water-saturated cellulose materials like drywall and ceiling tiles. Requires 7–10+ days of sustained moisture. Associated with mycotoxin production. South Florida's long wet season and hurricane-driven leaks make this one of the species our inspectors confirm most often.
